managment reminds me of how to run an establishment
How i should treat my co-worker no matter if they are a slow worker.
Try to lead but not leave anyone behind because that wouldnt be too kind.
I should be looking to be efficent as an inividual or team that way my work picks up steam.
Managment motivates us to continue with the right type of leader everyone can achieve much higher goals. what i say and you say may differ but managment helps us to compromise not surrender. it is the key tool to success and I hope everyone learns it god bless.

the blog
This blog has been an interesting and unusual expierence for me. I am not a natural blogger so for me this was fun just for the mere fact that i was doing something new. As far as how it realtes to class I found it to be a great tool. I found it interesting to do and respond to other people's blog as it create a network that got us all involved. my main gripe is the due dates for the blog assignment. I eventually found it diffucult to remember to them on time as the semester went because of increased course work. If there was a way to install a reminder that would be great.
The blog also helps reinforce what we learned in the modules by making us rethink it. As far as continuing the blog I do not think i will. I am not a blogger by nature an i find it diffucult to talk about things out of the blue. I may however lurk around the cooler water blog just to see whats up.

extra credit
Most large organizations have experienced special orders that customers request which involve extra time and steps to complete. So when it was I who would be that customer for a McDonalds in Howard Beach Queens I was hesitant at the thought of making a mess of their finely tuned operations. As I was in the process of making the order I was relieved at how well the process was going. As an everyday customer I would not have noticed much of a difference in service but as an observer to their operations I witnessed the adjustments that had to be made in order to fulfill my particular request.
Before I actually go through the steps that were taken let me mention that at the particular moment that I was making this order the Mcdonalds I went to was not busy and that I was 1 of 2 customers on line within the period of the order being taken. Te first step in the process was my order ; I made it to the cashier who appeared to be a manager of some sort. I assume this as his attire, specifically his shirt, was more professional than the other employees. He greeted me and asked for my order, I said fine an proceeded to give my order of a hamburger with four pickles and a small fries well done with no salt. I then explained that it was important that my receipt reflect my order exactly to which he replied “no problem don't worry about it”. He then concentrated on entering the order in to the register computer which I assume is connected to the order system. After he completed it on the computer he told the employee making the burgers “one hamburger four pickles”; he then told the employee at the fries station “one small well-done no salt”. I could observe both employees due to the layout of this particular store. The employee constructing the burger had no trouble with the order as he made it and put it into a bag and told the manager this was the special order. The employee
making the fries had marginally more effort as she had to fry a new batch of fries well done and not add salt to that one order of small fries. I did notice that she used the same batch of well done fries for the drive through customers and I was not sure that she should have as my order was notably more cooked than the average fries at Mcdonald's I wasn't too sure what well done fries look like so I presumed that they were in did prepared correctly.
In all I observed three employees involved in the order.; the manager and two regular employees. It took approximately five minutes from ordering to when I was handed my completed order. During ordering and waiting I felt that I was being treated very well and I would say I was being treated better than I usually had been in other Mcdonald's. Even though I had a special order that I assumed would make them annoyed at me I felt I was treated better because of it. In the end my order was completed correctly to the exact specifications that I ordered and my receipt reflect such. The manufacturing out of 10 was a 9; I think extra care was taken as this was a special order and it seemed above average for McDonald's. I will grade communications, coordination, and customer service together as all functions seemed to be handled by the manager; I would give him a 10 out of 10 as he treated me very well and made sure that my order was prepared correctly. In this case the manager was sort of a dictating leader as he gave orders to his employees but there did not seem to be any animosity towards him as the employees seem happy to be around him.
I was happy with how the process went and was pleasantly surprised about how it turned out. If I was to make any suggestions as to how they could increase their efficiency it would be to make more options available on their computer or make it easier to use. It seemed entering the order took some extra time because the manager was having trouble finding something for the order.

DISC
The anaylisis test that we took in class classifies me as being a C; i feel that it accuratley guaged me in my managment orientation. The layman drfinition professor kurpis explaine that C's are analytical and methodically think over a decison as oppose to going with a gut feeling or guessing. i feel that perfectly describes me in general as far as important decisons go.
I was also classified as having D qualities which i feel is also accurate. i am more straightforward and analytical but I know when i have to set people straight with a command. I feels this test just emphasizes the main attributes i and others have; i feel people can have traits from the other styles mixed in but that these are the most predominant. It would not help me to know this to understand where a manager is coming from; for me either i like your style or don't regardless of whether or not i k ow why they operate that way. this test would benefit me in interactions because it would give me insight into who i could argue with about an issue or problem and feel it would make a difference. if the person i was working with is a D chances are any suggestion i make will be ignored if they have their own opinion.
to tie this in with the survival test we took i think someone like myself being a high C low D would work perfect for this situation. they would analyze what would be the best action to take then dictate who needs to do what and how we should do it. of course the rest of us would have to have some C in us to contribute in the analysis but we would then have to follow what the leader would say.

vision
My main goal that i have for myself outside of BAruch is to own my own business. this vision i have is something that i have had on my mind for some time. I want my business to be in the financial world most likely offering a service to clients. In the near future i must take the action of saving my income an planning wisley on how to implement a business plan. I realize it is not the most agressive actionbut i am feel this is a major part in having sucess in my vision. I will most likely create my business based on the field in financing i am trained in. this part i am unsure as to how i will decide; at the moment i am willing to let the decision make itself out with whoever hires me.

easy way out
During the exercise I examined the situation an felt it was best for me to stand back and let everyone else handle the situation. I definitely needed the help but i saw that others were willing to fight hard for the same thing i wanted. my actions do not fall under the avoidance way because i definitely felt that we were going to be successful; but i did take myself out of the interaction. I feel it was best that i did what i did because if too many people were to get involved then nothing would be accomplished. I am happy with my decision on how i operated in the exercise; i got involved when there needed to be a decision about the T/F questions. After much argument of whether to have them or not a student suggested 5 questions i felt that was reasonable an i chanted 5 in agreement which i think led others to join in on that resolution.
knowing what i know now i would not want to change my way of working on the situation but if i had to i would have worked in a way to compromise. in the end that is how we were successful and compromise is the less of all evils in my opinion. I think we already received the best result so i would not expect improvement for me to change my way of handling the conflict.

the eggsperiment
In the experiment, which my team the egg that could was successful, we employed 4 out of the 5 steps in management planning. we set a goal of making sure the egg survive the plunge from the top of the desk. we may have bypassed the determining the resources as our resources were fixed. i do not feel this hurt us as we had ample materials for the challenge. we did have several ideas as to how to develop a system to keep the egg from breaking. we then combined all of the ideas and made a plan of who should do what as far as building the case. we then implemented it as accomplished our goal. i feel my team did very well and we could not have done anything differently. we managed to through our ideas quickly and decided what would work best and planned how to implement the plan.

Biggest Managent Problem
At the moment my biggest management problem is with my language professor. I can describe it as a boss that puts too much of a work load on an employee to the point that the tasks cannot be completed. The workload in the class is easily double that of my other courses; this leads me into a problem because I i have four other courses I have to manage besides my language course. There has been attempts by myself and other students to bring up this problem yet the professor thinks that it is lack of motivation on our part when in reality it is negligence on theirs for not understanding the situation college students are in.
