DISC

The anaylisis test that we took in class classifies me as being a C; i feel that it accuratley guaged me in my managment orientation. The layman drfinition professor kurpis explaine that C's are analytical and methodically think over a decison as oppose to going with a gut feeling or guessing. i feel that perfectly describes me in general as far as important decisons go.
I was also classified as having D qualities which i feel is also accurate. i am more straightforward and analytical but I know when i have to set people straight with a command. I feels this test just emphasizes the main attributes i and others have; i feel people can have traits from the other styles mixed in but that these are the most predominant. It would not help me to know this to understand where a manager is coming from; for me either i like your style or don't regardless of whether or not i k ow why they operate that way. this test would benefit me in interactions because it would give me insight into who i could argue with about an issue or problem and feel it would make a difference. if the person i was working with is a D chances are any suggestion i make will be ignored if they have their own opinion.
to tie this in with the survival test we took i think someone like myself being a high C low D would work perfect for this situation. they would analyze what would be the best action to take then dictate who needs to do what and how we should do it. of course the rest of us would have to have some C in us to contribute in the analysis but we would then have to follow what the leader would say.

  1. Your C aspect does come across in the group scenarios and have also seen you show the aspect of D as well but not to an extreme sense. Great that you can see the attributes in yourself and know how they can be beneficial to you.

  2. I envy you. I actually love being a C high S, but ultimately it seems like C's just debate things in their head repeatedly and like to assess every situation under every facet, and ultimately may not get much done.

I actually would like to be more of a risktaker instead of analyzing everything to death. Imagine: C high D.

    I would feel invincible.

  3. I think that you have the best combination. It's good to have "C" type of leadership behavior for people majoring either in Finance or Accounting. And at the same time having high "D" type makes you a good manager. I think a lot of people in our class have the combination of "C" and high "D".
